"When we deal in generalities, we shall never succeed.
When we deal in specifics, we shall rarely have a failure. When performance is measured,
performance is improved. When performance is measured and reported back, the rate of
improvement accelerates."
Thomas S.
Monson
At Oak Tree Advisory Services,
Inc., our experience shows that for many, financial issues are emotional in nature. They
encompass how a person perceives their financial situation. This perception in turn
nurtures a belief system that determines the criteria by which financial success and
satisfaction are personally measured. We realize this and make every effort to answer our
clients' important questions, such as, "How much disability insurance do I really
need?" "Will term and accidental death insurance be enough, or do I need other
forms of protection?" "How will my benefits help my children or elderly parents
that I am caring for?"
Benefit programs are intended to
meet specific organizational objectives. They should make a financial contribution to the
bottom line by providing options, information, and training that result in more focused
and satisfied employees that, in turn, fosters productivity for the employer. Yet, while
offering a list of benefits is helpful, simple availability does not make them useful. The
benefit itself does not necessarily help a participant to create a more satisfying life
unless he or she understands the details that are involved. Oak Tree Advisory Services,
Inc. moves the world of benefits from a universe of "generalities" into the
realm of "specifics."
In 1980, Oak Tree designed and
implemented the Benefit Coordination Program (BCP) to fill the need of key executives and
their employees who were seeking to build benefit programs that were more than a bundle of
confusing pension and insurance options. Since that time, Oak Tree continues to provide
innovative structures aimed at meeting the needs of companies and their team members. We
believe that the task of coordinating benefits begins with the outcome in mind. Together
with our clients, we build a confidential profile for each executive. This is made up of
personal information, tolerance for risk, the time frames required for goal attainment,
analysis of resources to reach each goal, etc... This information is distilled into an
executive report outlining the steps required to reach each objective, and also gives our
executive clients a panoramic view -- a complete and unbiased picture. It provides the
personal context in which each element of a benefit program can be seen. The result
is an enhanced value of each program offered by the employer for the
employee-participants. The report also produces program recommendations aimed at filling
the gap between the needs of the target group and what is currently being offered. Once a
course is laid and the plan is in place, daily pressures may keep individuals from
attending to the details of their personal financial program. To fill this gap, Oak Tree
acts as an "administrative assistant," helping attend to those personal matters
that are sometimes overlooked.
In short, Oak Tree's BCP offers a
financial planning service that integrates all the employee benefits into one
context-driven financial plan. This frees up administration's time by having Oak Tree
interact directly with the executives. It provides a clear context in which benefits are
presented and provides a confidential atmosphere for the executive to discuss problems and
concerns without the need to go back to the employer.
In the long run, this allows the
executive to have much more time to devote to his company. |
